About Westport Residents Directory

Westport no longer has one current book naming all residents. Instead, useful clues sit with the Assessor, Town Clerk, registrars, libraries, and archives. This private reference organizes those official and historical routes so a name, street, or old address can be taken to the right custodian.

Why This Site Exists

Printed Westport directories ended, while the source records remained divided among municipal and state custodians. The Westport Assessor tracks parcels, the Town Clerk keeps deeds, local registrars handle voter records, and libraries preserve old volumes. We bring the confirmed search routes, office contacts, years, and access limits together for Westport research.

What You Will Find Here

  • Pages by angle: street records, historical city directories, and the resident lookup
  • The rolls and offices: assessor, recorder, elections office, court clerk, vital records, the library's local history collection
  • Walkthroughs: how to trace who lives on a street, how to read a directory entry, how to follow a household across the decades
  • Access rules: what Connecticut law opens, what remains restricted, and how to ask a custodian for an offline record

What We Cannot Do

This is a privately run reference site, unaffiliated with Westport, Fairfield County, Connecticut, any court, or any library. Important limits apply:

  • We cannot confirm whether a specific person currently lives in Westport
  • We cannot pull, certify, or change any record on your behalf
  • We cannot add anyone to, or remove anyone from, any roll or database
  • We cannot give legal advice about a record or a dispute
  • We cannot promise that every coverage year, link, or office detail here is current at this moment

Only the custodian office can confirm, certify, or correct a record. Nothing found through this site may be used for credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions.
